Audio problems

Papajohn, please can you help?

I have posted this before but with no success and I now have now a bit more
information.

I have 2 avi files both recorded using the same video camera (analogue). I
can import either one into MovieMaker and put all the clips onto the
timeline. Playback of Video and Audio are fine. But, if I import one and
then try to add the 2nd one to the end of the 1st, all the audio disappears.
If I remove the 2nd one, the audio of the first one returns again OK.

So, I then tried using Virtualdub to combine the two avi files before
importing the whole thing into MM but Virtualdub it will not allow me to
"append an AVI segment" The error is:- The audio streams have different
sampling rates, 44099.50000 vs 44100.250000 As they were recorded and
played back on the same video camera I can't see why. I guess this may be
why there is a problem in MM when I try to add the 2nd file.

What can I do about this? It's should be easy just to add one file to the
end of another. What am I doing wrong?

TIA for any help.

Geoff.

Hi Geoff,

As you can get one or the other to the timeline... I'd try using MM2 to save
each of them to a new DV-AVI file...and then use those new clips as your
source files... Hopefully the processing through MM2 will align them.
