Audio device issue after installing XP SP2

Hello everybody, I hope someone can give me a hand.
After installing XP SP2, Windows blocked my audio controller. I have a VAIO
laptop model PCG-GRX727, with a Yamaha AC-XG WDM (version 6.13.10.3143). When
a go to device manager, the following is shown: "windows has blocked this
device software because presents issues with this windows version. contact
the HW manufacturer to get a new controller" (code 48).
Fine. I understand it is not compatible with SP2.
The issue here is that Yamaha has only generic controllers available on
their site. They also state that any issues related to Service packs
installations, I have to deal this with either Microsoft or Sony.
On the other hand, at Sony website, the audio controller available for my
laptop model is the same that I already have on my laptop! (same version).
There is no upgrade or new controller version suitable ( or specific) to run
along with the XP SP2.
I have looked for patches in windows dowloads that could help me but either
they are related to HD audio or different issues of SP2 installations.
I found a KB901105, but it did not solve my problem.
Any insights? Thanks in advance.

The hardware vendor stopped support for the given hardware before Windows XP
SP2 was released (unfortunately for you.)

There are some references to a generic chipset driver working for Windows XP
SP1 out there - nothing about SP2 (because, again, the hardware manufacturer
decided when th end-of-life was - and Windows XP SP2 did not make that cut.)

You ,ight try the file awi2152 that you can find out there (referencing
things as I alluded to above) and definitely want to try the latest drivers
(chipset and all) direct from the support site for the device you have
(http://esupport.sony.com/LA/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=PCGGRX727) even if you
think you already have them installed - but be advised that you just may
have a piece of hardware where the hardware manufacturer has left you out in
the cold (not uncommon.)
