Attempting to schedule a backup, get error message 'access is deni

Using the Windows Backup Facility Unit error message '0 x 80070005 access is
denied , you do not have permission to perform requested operation' appears
after being invited to set a password in the final stages of scheduling a
daily backup. There is no problem starting the backup manually. I am the
owner of the computer and set up as an administrator; there are other users
but no network. This is a family computer and passwords are not used. The
error message appears whether or not I leave the password blank or attempt to
set a password.

I would be grateful for some advice.
