Backup scheduling problem

Theo Tulley

I have WXP-Pro fully updated (auto) and live alone so I am the
Administrator - but when I set a schedule I am told I do not have
permission - Error: 0x80070005: Access is denied. Puzzling!

After consulting Help, for a files backup I selected Documents and Settings
and set that to be shared - now a scheduled daily incremental backup works.

However, I want to set a weekly incremental System backup, and cannot see
how to set the appropriate files to be shared.

Why doesn't the Administrator have full rights? I shall be grateful for
advice.

Yours hopefully, -

Theo Tulley.

your problem is a little confusing can you please elaborate a little
more for same ?
When I went to Help & Support, I found a suggestion that for permissions to
set scheduled backups, files needed to be shared - so I did this for Docs &
Settings, and it worked - I set a schedule for daily incremental backup, and
it happened.

Another option for the backups wizard in W-XP is System State - but what do
I share to enable this to happen? as it is, I set it up and as soon as I
click Finish, I get the message: "Error: 0x80070005: Access is denied" as
quoted in my original mail. My name is entered in the Administrator group
and I don't use a password so I left that box blank.

Hope you can help!
