every email I send out using HTML format has images attachment to them (as attachments), I can not get rid of them and can find no setting for automatic attachments. When I create the email it does not show any attachments. But when I or someone else receives the email the same attachments are always there (four images from a folder on my PC). This is only true in HTML format, not in text format.

Are you using Word as your mail editor? If do, delete the normal.dot file
in
%AppData%\Microsoft\Templates and try again.
