ATI HD2400

I have got a ATI power colour hd 2400 and everytime i install it will
install but wen it restarts it doesnt pick it up its just 4 bit colour im
runnin a imb pc with xoem processors n 1 gb of memory n windows xp and
everytime it try to install the hd driver for the sound it pick it up n just
locks up

What can i do to resolve this problem

might be defective or perhaps
not installed securely.

I would check its home site for
any faq's or updated drivers.

What can i do to resolve this problem

Try the ATI website and their forums.
Perhaps you may have to use their uninstaller to get rid of all the old
drivers first.
If you had a graphics chip built-in (onboard chip) to your motherboard, you
may have to go into the BIOS to disable the 'onboard' graphic chip.
While in there, check that the settings for your new card are proper.
