ATI DVD playback

Hi,

I have an optorite dvd player and an 9000 aiw video card. When I insert a
dvd, MIB II, for playback, the ati dvd player comes up, the dvd drive
activates and I see a screen that says this disk will only play on
unmodified dvd players. The play button does not function.

What's wrong?

Sounds like a copy protection issue. Try closing the player, launching it
again and then playing the disc. That way you bypass the autoplay function
and might have better luck.

maybe this dvd player is all region?

There are dvd's having a small part in another region code which will be
played first

- if this is possible, the dvd locks in an endless loop,
- if there is an error (wrong region code) there is a kind of "on error
go to right track and play"

The disk uses RCE (Region Code Enhanced) and your dvd-drive is set to
another region than the disk. Try www.dvdrhelp.com for help.

I had the same problem with Final Fantasy Spirits Within. Finally ripped the
disk with dvd decryptor and watched it from the hard drive.
