Sony RDR-VX515 DVD/VCR Recorder and ATI TV Wonder Elite

I have the subject connected to my PC. I cannot get the DVD's to play
back. The DVD's are Movies I purchased and play fine on my other DVD Player.
I contacted Sony support and they told me that the player does not support
my ATI TV Wonder Elite card.
Has anyone ever heard of this problem? Is Sony giving me a line?

Many pre-recorded video tapes and DVDs (i.e. movies) are copyright protected
and include a mechanism to prevent duplication.

When you say "can't get DVDs to play back" what exactly happens when you
try? Does it play them back on a regular TV? Have you tried both the
composite and the s-video outputs?
