Assigning double click to middle mouse button

Does anyone know of a free program/utility that will assign a function
(double click) to the middle button of a three button MS compatible
mouse? Thanks.

Check out Microsoft's IntelliPoint. It allows
reassignment of all mouse buttons & wheel. It works fine
with my Logitech wireless mouse, and has much greater
functionality than the utility supplied with it. It
allows reassignment on a global or per-program basis,
while the logitech produce is global only.

cheers

Go to the Logitech site and download the latest version of Mouseware. It
seems to work with mice that aren't made by Logitech but have the same
hardware features. I have a non-Logitech mouse with a centre button to which
I've assigned the IE "back" function. You can specify the double-click too.

When I had Win98 I used a freeware utility called Cool Mouse 97 (not
the later version). Couldn't say whether it works with XP.

Your
mouse might be made by Logitech and sold under the name
of another company so you can double check. I only found
one program that is a trial, and can be purchsed for $25.

And you can get a genuine Logitech 3 button Pilot mouse for less than
that
