I have recently discovered an unexpected feature of my 3 button mouse.
When I middle click in a scroll-able iExplorer window or in the header pane
of my newsreader (40Tude Dialog), an icon appears at the position I click
and I am able to scroll the window contents just by moving the mouse up or
down.
I know this function would be available had I used the driver/installation
disk supplied with the mouse, but I've been using the mouse with the
standard PS/2 compatible driver for years (having since reinstalled XP
several times).
The thing is, I'd like to assign the middle button to another function but
this scroll feature interferes or rather works in parallel.
I can find no reference to middle mouse button functionality in Control
Panel> Mouse> Settings. Can anyone tell me how I can turn this feature off?
Thanks
