ASPI and Win XP

Since I installed XP two of my CD writing programs, VCD Easy and NTI CD
Maker just don't work. I think it's because WinXP installation has decided
ASPI drivers are no longer necessary. Is it worth re-installing ASPI and
how, or would it be better to just use programs like Nero that don't seem to
need it with my setup?

You are correct that XP does not use ASPI. For those programs that do,
you can I think still get a download from Adaptec, and I would try that
- it will not do any harm.
Nero and Easy CD Creator do their own equivalent

Sometimes, the ASPI components (4 Modules) get out of Sync.
Adaptec makes a diagnostic tool that displays the internal version
number of ASPI components. I believe it is called Check ASPI.

It is important that all 4 members have the same Version #.

Most applications do not require the ASPI layer when running under
XP.
