Hi All,

I have the external USB DVD writer.
Some program (cdrecord), which is
supposed to be able to write via
ASPI does not detect this drive
at SCSI bus at WinXP.

Drive is installed successfully as
USB mass storage and removable
DVD/CD-ROM drive and works properly.

How can I programmatically copy
the ISO disk image to this device?

I know that ASPI is the only solution
at Win98/Me/2000/XP simultaneously
and hardware vendor provides some
software, but I don't know how it works. :-)

But I presume that ASPI will not work
if device can not be seen as SCSI disk.
Is it possible to install some kind of additional
USB to SCSI driver at XP?

Aleksey.

found at http://dvdrbase.com/archive/index.php/t-8873 :

"What I did was put WNASPI32.DLL in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 from Nero ASPI from
w*w.cdspeed2000.com since it seems like Adaptec ASPI
4.60 and 4.71 isn't able to support Firewire/USB devices but SCSI/IDE only."

Looks like it is really so.
