in doing a clean install helf way through its brings up
please enter path cant find file "ASMS" so i set the path
and kicks back saying the same thing?? help urgent

If you are using a non-original XP CD to install, this could be the problem.
Use the original XP CD to continue the install.

Thankx a million does winxp store that info on the 8mb partition it makes?

We dont make an 8MB partition actually. That space is left at the end of a
drive due to the drive geometry.
