Uninstall the USB ports in Device Manager. Reboot PC and it will
reinstall the USB ports.
Start>Control Panel>System>Hardware tab>Device Manager
Rightclick the USB port and click Disable.
They will reload when you reboot.
Also, I downloaded something from microsoft a couple of weeks ago that was
for power management of usb ports. Don't know if it really works but it
didn't cause any problems for my system. It's possible that your USB port or
device problems may be to power consumption. Anyhoo, may not hurt to check
out the download at microsoft.com . Sorry don't have the url.....
