Hi -

I switched from Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2003 several months ago - since
then - I've noticed that my archiving attempts to my archive.pst created
within Outlook 2000 have resulted in e-mail that has disappeared.

Could this be because the pst was created with an earlier version of
Outlook? I'm only guessing that this was the problem - however, I've noticed
that email is missing from before I switched to Outlook 2003. Is it possible
that e-mail is still contained within the archive.pst but not being
displayed?

Thanks in advance ...

Have you examined your settings to see which PST file your current
installation is using for archiving? Have you searched for and opened other
PST files to look for this data?

Russ,

Yes I have looked in every .pst file I have for the missing e-mails. I use
the same archive.pst file I have for the last several years. I checked the
path - and it is correct. I even tried copying e-mails directly to
archive.pst and they seem to be copying fine. I need to archive quite
frequently since my company has a set limit on our mailboxes. Unfortunately,
I did not always check the archive.pst file to see if my e-mails archived
properly - and apparently they are not archiving.

I also ran scanpst.exe and it seemed to find some errors - and it "fixed"
them, but still none of the missing e-mail. However, when scanpst.exe scans
the file - it seems to find 9 folders. Not sure where it's getting that from
since all I see are "Deleted Items", "Sent Items", and "Search Folders"
listed as part of the .pst file.
