In one of the older posts, someone said auto archive, archives items based on
their modified date, not received dates. What does this mean? How can I
tell what the modified date is? Pls advise, thks.

Theer are several time stamps asscoiated with each Outlook item. Among them
are the Created date, the Modified date, the Received date, and the Sent
date. The first of these, and the last two, are probably clear to you. The
Modified date, however, is a measure of whether or not the item has changed
recently. If you move an item around, the Modified date can be updated to
the current time. Outlook's autoarchive's design goal is to remove messages
in which you're shown no interest in some period of time. By performing
cerrtain functions on an item, Outlook assumes you're "showing interest" and
updates the Modified date so that it is not archived.
How can I tell what the modified date is?

With your items showing in a list view, right-click the header above the
list and choose Field Chooser. Select the "Date/TIme fields" in the
drop-down, click on and drag the Modified entry to the header line. Close
the Field Chooser.
