Outlook 2007 Auto Archive help

T

Thomas R Grassi Jr

Windows XP Pro SP3 and Vista Business SP2 workstations running Office 2007
SP2

Using News Feeds and I have auto archive to permanently delete messages
after 2 days old.

I added to my view the modified date which auto archive uses and when I
review the messages I see files that were modified are older than 2 days.

Question 1 why does auto archive not archive based on my properties on the
individual folder

Question 2. How often does auto archive run what is the default time and can
I change it to like every 8 hours or something that would clean up the
messages quicker

any ideas or suggestions

Thanks in advance

How much older are they?
By default AutoArchive runs every 14 days so that means messages can be up
to 16 days old before they get deleted with your settings. You can set it to
run every day in;
Tools-> Options-> tab Other-> button AutoArchive...

Thanks

I already have it set to run every 2 days I am not sure if it is running or
not

So that means that messages can be up to 4 days old before they get moved.

If you were to disconnect your archive pst-file from Outlook, then an
indication of AutoArchive running or not would be the time that the archive
pst-file was last modified itself.
