archive file empty after relocating

compulsive reader

Without thinking about it, I dragged and dropped a file called archive.pst
file from the default Outlook drive onto my desktop instead of copying it.
Before I moved it, that file had months of email in it; when I tried to open
it again after moving it, it had only empty folders, as if it were a brand
new archive.

I am an end user, not that sophisticated. I figure there might be general
computer-guy ways to undo this, but I don't know what they are. Are there
any recovery methods that will work from within Outlook?

Do you still have access to the archive.pst file that you dragged to your
desktop?
