Apps in system tray not responding on shutdown

I've attached a trail of notes regarding a shutdown
problem I'm having--I've tried the suggestions but it
still keeps occuring--I set the shutdown speed to longer,
and it allowed me to see the messages that are popping up
a little easier. It appears that all applications open in
the system tray are "not responding" during shutdown.
Anybody know of a fix for this?

THX Kelly, I tried it, but the "problem" still
persists....It seems as if it shuts down super fast, but
before it does, messages popup--I can glimpse words like
ccApp not responding as well as something about Windows
explorer.exe (not responding?)....I also thought I saw the
word "connection" on one of the message headers....but
again, the messages appear so fast consecutively one after
another, and the machine shuts down within seconds that I
don't have time to read them all....If there is a way to
supress these irritating messages, I'd be a happy camper =)

BTW, I had tried optimizing xp using some of the
suggestions on this website:

Could any of these have contributed to this development?

See if this helps:

This edit automatically ends tasks and timeouts that prevent programs from
shutting down and clears the Paging File on Exit.

Hurray! I fixed it--I played around with switches in a
program called Cacheman (freeware)....Something in there
seemed to do the trick....I'm now a happy camper once
again =)
