applying personal settings

Hi All,

I have an xp pro computer which takes a really long time logging on to the
domain. Applying personal settings takes close to 5 minutes then the desktop
loads. Has anybody seen this?

Any help would be appreciated

Users in one of our offices take from 3 to 5 minutes to login to the domain.
I have been told that it is because of security / encryption. I think it is
because the login server has major problems. I cannot find anyway to speed up
the login process.

For both of you - unusually long logins to a domain normally are caused
by incorrect DNS settings. The server should look to itself for DNS
with the ISP's DNS set in forwarding zones or root hints. The
workstations should only look to the server for DNS.
