Applying Office 2003 service pack not working

C

Chris Elson

I have a windows 2000 terminal server. Office 2000 was
installed on the server before the Terminal Server was
activated. However I am now trying to apply Office
service pack 3 but it brings up the message:
"Some default settings in Microsoft Office setup do not
work properly on a Windows Terminal Server. To install
Office on a Terminal Server, you must use the instructions
and tools available in your Office 2000 resource kit..."

Is there anyway to over come this? I have the original
install CD and have also had a look at the Office 2000
resource kit but that seems to want to reinstall the
entire application and remove the old one in the process.

Many thanks

Chris,

If Office 2000 was installed prior to terminal services I would uninstall
Office and then reinstall it following the directions found in Microsoft
Knowledge Base Article - Q224313. This should get you a copy of Office
which will allow all the service pack installs.

Hope this helps,
