HI,
I´ve an application (SQL Windows) that I run it, the Video color quality
change automatically to 8 bits. When I close this application the color
quality back to 32 bits.

I can´t upgrade this application, because I´ll spend much time and I need to
migrate several workstations from Windows 98 to XP.
Then, How can I block or disable to applications change color quality in XP?

Thanks for any help.

This is normal operation. More info:

Follow these steps if you want to switch the display temporarily while the
game or program is running.

On your desktop or on the Start menu, right-click the game or other program
that you want to run in 256 colors, and then click Properties. Click the
Compatibility tab. Select the Run in 256 colors check box.

Run in 640x480 screen resolution check box. Your screen resolution will
revert to its previous resolution when you close the program.

The Compatibility tab is available only for programs or games located on
your computer's hard disk. It is not available if the program is stored on a
floppy disk, compact disk, or a network.

Switch Display:

Start/Programs/Game in Question/Properties/Compatibility Tab/Select 256 or
640x480.

I suggest that if you do it, you also go on the Settings - Advanced -
General page to the DPI settings, choose Custom and select 75%. That
will adjust sizes of fonts and of dialog boxes like the display one

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Control
Panel\Settings\Video\PCI:VEN_10DE&DEV_0020&SUBSYS_05501092&REV_04\Monitor:SNY0770:{4D36E96E-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}:0000,0
