Application Hang

Can someone please provide a solution or suggestion for
the following dilemma? Each time I boot-up, I have a long
delay before I can use the system, as Mcshield.exe goes
through a lengthy hang-up prior to abending. It is only
then that I am able to use the system.

mcshield is part of McAfee VirusScan - check with them to see if a fix is
available.
