Application Failed to Initialize Properly (0xc0000006)

When I reboot my computer, I receive an eror message "application failed to
initialize properly (0xc0000006). The application the message is referring
to is Windows XP. I can't even start the computer in safe mode. How can I
correct? Thank you!
