Hi - I can log in OK as Administrator but when hubby logs in to his he gets
"Application failed to initialize- Oxc0000022" - he can keep saying OK to the
messages but system won't run Norton and presumably other progs. that I
haven't worked out! Fortunately my Admin. is OK and is booting up OK and
running Norton etc OK. It seems to have started after I did a defrag and then
a Disk Cleanup but I didn't think I had deleted anything?!! I tried Norton &
they told me to go in to MSCONFIG and intick HP & Windows Defender in
Services but all this did was to mess mine up as well as I have put it back
to Normal StartUp. Can anyone help?

What kind of User is your Husband?, is He an Admin or Normal User with
limited account?.
If the later, then you need to assign him access to these applications or
Permission.
You need to do that through a Group policy, by Opening a run command and
type in:
gpedit.msc click [OK] and on the GPO control panel Click Under
Administrative Templates under user configuration and assign Him access to
these Application.
I think when you install Norton you elected to use this application just for
the current User, which is you the Admin and Deny other which you thought it
might be a hazard on your security if you elected to all whom might use this
computer, am I right?.

You may receive an error message when you try to run an application under a
user account that is not a member of the Administrators group or of the Power
Users group after you install Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 6
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, grant the Read & Execute permission to the Users
group for each affected system file. To do this, follow these steps:
1. In Microsoft Windows Explorer, locate the affected system file.
2. Right-click the file, and then click Properties.
3. Click the Security tab, and then click the Users group under Group or
user names.
4. Under Permissions for Users, click to select the Allow check box for the
Read & Execute permission.
5. Click Apply, and then click OK.
</MS::>
Or your Husband account may be damaged or corrupted, so try to create
another account and try that.

Hi. Thanks for your help. I don't have Visual Studio 6 & my husband's log-in
worked for a few days after I upgraded to Norton 2007 - so will try your
other suggestions.

Polyanna--I had similar problem that affected several executables including
NIS2007 and Acrobat-Pro. However, happy to report all appear resolved by
solution reported in parallel discussion thread "Application Failed to
Initialize Properly (0xc0000022)" by Don in U.K. Godspeed--Al
