application error in explorer.exe

After installing SP2 last night, I am no longer able to open My Computer, the
Recycle Bin, any desktop folder, the search function, control
pannel..basically anything that uses Explorer. When I do, I get an error that

explorer.exe - Application Error

The instruction at "0x019ee9fa" refrenced memory at "0x00000000". The
memory could not be "written"

Click on OK to terminate the program.

The first string of characters tends to vary quite a bit, and written
sometimes appears as read.

When I click ok, explorer reboots, leaving me with the same problem.

I do not have DiVX installed. I do not have photoshop installed (both were
previous suggestions). I've tried SFC /SCANOW. I highly doubt I have any
spyware or malware.

Suggestions?
