Application error 0xc0000142 ??

Now , at download of any file from the www, I receive " application error
failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142)", and the OK/terminate window.
Have not been able to find and fix...any help and guidance greatly needed !

By chance, is Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 basic installed? If so go to
there support site and download the latest update and install it.

Hi Bert,
Thanks for the response but no, Roxio isnt installed. Checked all
spy/adware as well as Norton A/V settings...I am at a loss on this as I have
a "stack" of updates from MS and others to install...
