AOL weirdness when booting up-no AOL on ths computer

I do not have or use AOL, though it did come preinstalled. I removed all
that I could through Add/ Rem Often, but not allways, when I bot up, I get a
splash screen that AOL is having a problem starting and that if it
continues, to reinstall.

In Add/ Remove, AOL is there but when I click to remove or change, I get a
message that AOL is looking for the version installed then tells me no
version is installed. Two other references to AOL, spyware Protection and
Toolbar are there. When i try to remove, I get a small window titled
Uninstall and the message" could not find INSTALL.LOG

Ideas?

TIA

I don't quite understand. If you go into Add/Remove do you see anythng
called AOL Uninstaller?
If you do, opening that should show you whatever aol apps. may be installed
on your pc.
Check off whatever you want to remove.
Don't just use Add/Remove. AOL is a pain to get rid of but using their
unistaller you should be able to.
Good luck...

I do not have an AOL uninstaller. If I click AOl it says checking to see
which version is installed, then that it can't find any version. Then I have
I have Toolbar and Spyware protection as I mentioned in the original post
but clicking remove/ change brings up the message I already mentioned.

Thanks

Browse to the "Program Files" folder and remove all references to AOL.
Check your "Start Up" start menu folder for any references to AOL.
Press [Windows Key]+[R] type "MSCONFIG" is the dialog box that pops up.
Click on the last tab in the new MSCONFIG dialog box.
Look for any references to AOL or look at the file paths and look for
AOL. This should clear up your start up woes.
