I have already assigned html files to Opera but OE still
wants to use IE for links both in news and emails. Anyway to
fix this?

If you have SP1, find 'set program access and defaults' - it's possibly on
your start menu - if not, look on the left hand side of the 'Add and Remove
Programs'. Have a look around there, and you should be able to turn it off.

If you've already done this, sorry but you didn't say so. And if you don't
have SP1, you should.

Thanks got it to work now. I just changed the preferences in
Opera to associate it with urls :-)

Only problem is that if Opera isn't open then a popup asks
if you want to continue from when you last browsed or start
with your home page etc. Whatever you select the link
doesn't load. Works fine if Opera is already running though.

File/Preferences/Start and exit - uncheck "Show start-up dialog".

Yeah But I like the ability to start where I left off,
ideally I would like to start where I left off and Opera
open a new window for my link.

If you always start with the previous session check "Continue from last
time". Combining that with unchecking "Show start-up dialog" will give you
what you want.
