The "gain" button is unresponsive until you pick the beginning and
ending of that section of the file that you want to modify. If you're
just clicking on stuff just to see what happens (like I always do ;-)
then the program will appear to be broken. The faded portion of the file
will be orange in the mp3directcut window.
