I have a computer that will not bring up the IE browser.
Get the following error in the Application log with each
attempt:
"Faulting application iexplorer.exe, version
6.0.2800.1106, faulting module winshow.dll, version
1.0.0.6, fault address 0x0000a95e."

I have remvoed and reinstalled IE, applied all service
packs etc with no change.

Anyone have any ideas. Complete reload is not an option at
the present time but fast becoming reality.

Thanks

From Control Panel> Internet Options> Advanced> uncheck "Enable third party
browser extensions." That should allow IE to work.

You might also be able to browse and download programs from the address bar
of Windows Explorer.

Download and run Run CWShredder from
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html
CWShredder is only about 125 KB so it could be downloaded from another
machine onto a floppy disk if necessary. CWShredder will remove winshow.

Then download, install, *update* and run both of these programs:
Ad-aware from http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/
Spybot from http://security.kolla.de/ (Remove items listed in red-others are
optional.)
Both programs should be updated after installation- before use.

Security tips and other information at:

You should re-enable browser extensions after the cleanup.

Download Netscape. Why fight it when a better browser is outh there with no pop ups?
