I have searched the KB and found many references to the message "Microsoft
Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
for the inconvenience." However, I have not found any references with the
same signature that I am seeing --> AppName iexplore.exe AppVer
6.0.2800.1106 ModName winshow.dll ModVer 1.0.0.6 Offset 0000a95e I am
trying to run IE with SP1 on Windows 2000 Pro with SP4. Has anyone else seen
this problem, and can you please help me to get past this? Thanks in advance.

If you don't have Ad-Aware, Spybot Search and Destroy, I recommend
downloading and installing them. It sounds like you might have either
Netsky, or an variant of Coolweb, to name a couple, most likely you have
more. The link is to the Major Geeks site, there you can find a safe and
free version of those programs.
