AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106 ModName:
winshow.dll
ModVer: 1.0.0.6 Offset: 0000a95e

That's what appears even after I bought the disk from
Microsoft and reinstalled the program a few times. Any
ideas what's the problem?

yes, "winshow" is your problem = spyware!!!!
See if you can open Control panel from Start> Run> (type in) control.exe
Then, from Control Panel> Internet Options> Advanced uncheck "Enable third
party browser extensions."
That should allow IE to open.
Remove the spyware with Ad-aware (http://www.lavasoft.nu/) or
run CWShredder from http://www.merijn.org/downloads.html It's been
the most helpful with this problem. It may be the only cleanup program you
need this time. CWShredder is only about 125 KB so it could be downloaded
from another machine onto a floppy disk. You could try running CWShredder
without disabling browser extensions.

Search for and remove other malware and note the security tips at:
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

You should re-enable browser extensions after the
cleanup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
