Anyone run into this error message - setup detected that the operating system in use is not windows

I tried running Vista SP1 and got
setup detected that the operating system in use is not windows vista
(32-bit)

But it is 32 bit, it was pre installed on my HP Pavilion.

I also got the same "setup detected that the operating system in use
is not windows vista (32-bit)" error message when I ran the NVidia
graphics card driver update program... so there is more to this then
just SP1.

Right click on my computer and select properties and tell us what it says
there for the OS

I emailed SP1 Support at MS and they sent a link to a SP1 Download. I
downloaded it and ran it and it installed SP1. It's running with no
problems.

I cannot see the thread that you originally responded to, only your response
which was passed to the Microsoft newsservers by the forum you are using.

Have you checked with support for the video card about the error?
