nVidia Driver Not Recognized My Vista OS

I am running Windows Vista Ultimate (32-bit) and recently I tried to update
my graphic driver from nVidia but during installation the following error
message appears:

"Setup detected that the operating system in use is not Windows Vista
(32-bit). This setup program and its associated drivers are designed to run
only on Windows Vista (32-bit). The installation will be terminated."

Anyone has any idea how the setup program not detected that I am running
Vista Ultimate (32-bit).

There are two versions of the drivers. One is 32 bit, one is 64 bit. It
sounds like you downloaded the 64 bit version.

Thank you Dustin for your response.

I have re-download the correct version 32-bit and attempted to install the
driver the second time and the same message appeared as in my previous post.
The funny thing is that the error message shows that the setup detected that
my operating system in use is not Windows Vista (32-bit) although I am
running Vista Ultimate (32-bit).

I hope that someone in the Microsoft can help me solve this problem or else
I am stuck with the old driver.

Yes, the control panel/system correctly state that:

System type: 32-bit Operating System

I think the problem is the nVidia setup file. I have downloaded the latest
beta driver 169.25 and successfully installed.

I've tried the beta of 169.25, I've tried the beta of 169.28.
I still get the same error about the fact that I am not running vista 32 bit.
I dont know what to do...

How have you confirmed that you are in fact running the Vista Home premium
or Vista Ultimate 32 bit os?

I just bought the computer and it came with Vista installed.
I also have checked the system information and it says 32-bit operating
system.
So I am quite sure it is.

Which NVIDIA card model did your system come with?
Did you disable any firewalls prior to trying to install the new drivers?
I believe I have seen this problem reported before but I have been unable to
find a workaround or reason for its happening.
I believe I recall that the description of the problem that is being
encountered is not being reported correctly.
