Any scanner s/w in XP?

Hi,
I've shifted my Epson scanner over from an older computer
running ME to one running XP Professional. I have it
installed correctly, but now I need software to access
the scanner. (The software I used on ME doesn't work on
XP.) Does XP contain such an app? Epson said the Paint
program will let me access the scanner, but I don't see
any indication of that.

If XP did not install drivers for the scanner, you will need to get the XP
ones from the manufacurers web site if they have them. If not you may need
to get a new scanner.

I'm using Epson Perfection 1660 with XP and I can use MS Paint to scan.
Make sure you download the twain driver from Epson and install it.

If I understand you right, and it's not a scanner driver problem, IrfanView
might be the answer, great app IMO and free for private use.

Have you tried VueScan (www.hamrick.com)? Works with XP
and my Epson Perfection 600. Costs about $40, but they
have a trial version
