Any program to extract text from images?

Forgot to mention, TIFF, BMP and JPEG is supported only, you'll have to
confert your GIF's. As text doesn't reside as anything more than a
collection of pixels in a GIF, the only way to get text out of the image
is to have a program look at the picture and determine if it recognises
anything there as text, that's what OCR does.
