Windows XP any point in getting xp 64

hi i am having to reinstall windows on my comp anyways and i was wondering if there is any point on me getting xp 64 bit edition? i have a 64bit cpu so i have the right hardware so should i or shouldnt i also if i do will all my games and programs still work which i guess are 32 bit softwares titles?

there is no real point at the moment, if your going to upgrade OS then get XP pro, the 64-bit version works ok AFAIK, the problem most people have is driver compatability as not all companies are releasing them for their slightly older peripherals

ok thanks for that that is what i have heard but if i did would there be a notable performance increase or not?? vista (longhorn) will be in 64 bit right? and wil it have dual core cababilities?
