Hi

- Uninstall MSAS, control panel add/remove programs

- Delete Program files/Microsoft Antispyware, all folders

- Download CCleaner, www.ccleaner.com remove all
temporarily junk 2 tabs and also search and
repair "Issues" within registry.

- Install a fresh copy of MSAS again. www.microsoft.com,
popular downloads

I am having excatly the same problem. I have even tried
installing in the Administrator account but no luck.
I have attempted to install using 3 copies (one from the
MS site and one from the XP magazine CD and another from
my Software Library discs).

If you wanna see a screenshot of the problem, click here:

I have even followed the steps as posted by plun.

Try the Windows Installer Cleanup tool from Microsoft.
(google on that for the KB article including the download link)

Use it to remove the installer traces of Microsoft Antispyware.

I tried that. Didn't work. After installation (along with
the registering dll errors, I get "unexpected: quitting"
message or something like that and then a Error 101
message.

I'm unclear where you are in the process--did you try the Windows Installer
cleanup tool?

Yes I did try the Windows Installer Cleanup tool but the
problem persists. I get errors saying multiple .dll files
failing to register/unregister when I try to install or
uninstall MSAS.

When I install, clicking ok at all the failed .dll
registration warnings, and start the program by double-
clicking on the MSAS icon it put on my desktop, I get a
101 Error

Hello Jason,

try this:

uninstall, Delete MSAS folder and
delete in C:\windows\system32 the following files:
GCCollection.dll
hashlib.dll
gcUnCompress.dll

run a regceaner (Ccleaner)

http://www.ccleaner.com/ccdownload.asp

Also use the temp cleaner of Ccleaner.

Do a fresh install with version .615 (latest)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...A2-6A57-4C57-A8BD-DBF62EDA9671&displaylang=en

Working this way you know that you are really running .615 with all old
things not anymore on the system!!!

The old bugs are not away ;)

Hi. I am sorry but it's too late.

I have formatted my drive in frustration with other
problems as well as this one so the only way out was to
format my drive. And now MSAS is working perfectly now
(just had to download a new version because the copy I
had had expired).

Thank you for your assistance. I am ok now.

Jason
