Errors When installing and uninstalling Microsoft Anti Spyware

I have windows XP home. I have a 40GB hard drive, 512 of ram, 2.80GHz of
processor speed. I installed Microsoft Anti spyware. When installing is in
progress I get 6 error messages. They are.

1 Error 1904.Module C:\WINDOWS\system32\GCCollection.dll failed to register.
HRESULT -2147220473. Contact your support personnel.

2 Error 1904.Module C:\WINDOWS\system32\gcAntiSpywareLibrary.dll failed to
register. HRESULT -2147220473. Contact your support personnel.

3 Error 1904.Module C:\WINDOWS\system32\gcASPrivacyLib.dll failed to
register. HRESULT -2147220473. Contact your support personnel.

4 Error 1904.Module C:\WINDOWS\system32\gcASSoapLib.dll failed to register.
HRESULT -2147220473. Contact your support personnel.

5 Error 1904.Module C:\WINDOWS\system32\gcASThreatAudit.dll failed to
register. HRESULT -2147220473. Contact your support personnel.

6 Error 1904.Module C:\WINDOWS\system32\gcSoftwareUpdateLib.dll failed to
register. HRESULT -2147220473. Contact your support personnel.

The install completed. Then the first time I ran Microsoft Anti spyware it
found stuff. Then after that it found nothing since then. Then I
uninstalled Microsoft Anti spyware I got 7 error messages they are.

The uninstall completed. What could be happing? Could it be something with
windows registry? Could it be an error in windows registry? Microsoft Anti
Spyware only found stuff when first installed. Could the error messages
prevent Microsoft Anti spyware from working properly and also not updating
and scanning my computer properly? But when I update the program it says
downloaded new updates. When I scan the computer it says scanning file and
folders. What do registry cleaners do? I saw yahoo group talking about
them. Please give all the information you can. Please reply in detail.

I red on another post to download the windows installer cleanup tool. What
does that do? Then I red to uninstall MASW then do something. I have
download the windows installer cleanup tool. Now what do I do? Please give
me step by step information. Not I’m visually impaired. Is there away to

Engel - you seem to be the man with the plan! thanks for the great info.

I tried the windows installer cleanup and MSAS was not one of the choices to
clean up.

I have tried to install/uninstall and still have the problems with the
register/unregister .dll's noted above. Error 1904 on install and 1905 on
uninstall.

any ideas of how I cam proceed from here?
