AntiSpyware Slowing Down My (and my family's) System at startup

I am getting complaints from family and friends that since AntiSpyware has
been loaded that it takes a lot longer for their systems to start up. I am
also experiencing this same issue on my home PCs (two of them). My newer
systems can handle the CPU demands well enough for me not to notice, but the
majority of my family and my other two PCs in the house are older.
Significant CPU time is being consumed while the scan is running the
background.

Suggestion - throttle down the priority for the app during startup a lot
more or clean up the code for faster execution or people are going to stop
using the AntiSpyware program.

Windows Defender should run under lower priority so it should be better with
Defender...
