Another SP2 question - successful instal, then....

I installed the service pack successfully and noticed two changes. I
already have a Zone Alarm fire wall and Norton, by the way.

The first change was that a horizontal yellow barshowed me the
software was blocking some "pop ups" and gaveme the option to see or
not. great.

The second was a ruby colored shield icon in the lower right tray.
This accessed some of the new firewall controls. For some reason,
this decided to disappear.

It could be that the shield was only there because the programming
felt I had a problem, or maybe it should still be there!

I tried to reload SP2, but once downloaded, you can't seem to do it
again.

Is this a concern?

That shield is only displayed if there appears to be a problem.
Start/All Programs/accessories/System Tool/Security Center
Click "Change the way..."
There you can see what is monitored and selected.

If you were to disable your AV, you will see the shield warning that
there is no AV protection.
