Another printer problem with win98 clients on win2k server

Greetings, the problem im dealing with is the following.
Several clients which have windows 98SE are not getting
their printers installed on our win2k terminal server.
They have various brands of printers(mostly HP and Canon),
which are also connected to USB or LPT. And they are using
either Remote desktop connector or the older terminal
client software to connect to us.

The server has SP4 and all security patches.
the server is a standalone in this domain(for security
reasons)

Ok, in the event log im not seeing any problems with the
printers, its like the clients arent sending any info
about their printers. But i have gone over all the
settings and everything is as it should be(i compared the
settings with clients that have no problems with their
printers)

I have tried lot of methods to fix this but nothing seems
to work.
I have tried following these documents; 239088, 302361 and
several others.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Yes i have tried to install the printers manually, but i
dont get any ports associated with the clients.
Also as i said, the users are either using the newest RDP
client or the old Terminal client software. It doesnt
make any difference

With kind regards,
Johann

Have you tried installing a basic HP 4 driver for 98
clients and when they install their own printer have them
make a HP4 install on their machine regardless if it is
networked or not, the local printers will probably not
stay connected after reboot. If they are on same driver
and you have this driver on TS then they should be able t
print to it.

I dont understand what you mean by "basic HP 4 Driver"

I have verified that the drivers have the same name on the
server and the client PC´s, so thats not a problem.
I even used the method decribed in
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-
US;230988
but that only helped me with one client(HP Deskjet 695c
printer)the other 9 clients are still not working.
