Another installation is in progress

While installing SP4, the connection with the server was
lost. I waited 5 hours in the night for it to try to
restore and it did not. Now, when I retry to install SP4 I
get an error message: ANother installation in progress.
COmplete the installation before proceeding with the
install. In c:\WINNT\ there is a WIndows Update text file
that tracks the install activity. The last line
says. "Error 0x80070643: Fatal error during installation."

So what do I do now. How do I complete the installation?
