Another CD Drive after SP2

I have a DVDRW/CDRW and a DVD/CD drive in my system. After installing SP2 ,
now I have
DVD-RW drive and two DVD drives all with different drive letters since
installing SP2.
Can anyone explain this?

What a great upgrade. I thought SP2 was only software, but you gained
hardware! And it's free, too!

Why does it need explaining? It seems to be self evident. In short a
'glitch'.

Just go to Safe Mode then Device Manager remove both devices, reboot
and let the OS redetect.
