i
.

I got my explorer to open where I wanted it to (the C:
drive) this way:
1. Create a shortcut to explorer.exe on the desktop.
2. Right click on the icon. Properties. Shortcut tab.
3. In the Target line enter

%systemroot%\EXPLORER.EXE /e,c:

Click OK.

To open in a specific folder just extend the path after
that final c:
eg:
%systemroot%\EXPLORER.EXE /e,c:\folder1\folder2

I have a second hard drive and I'm always moving files
between specific folders on the different drives so I just
made several shortcuts to all those folders and put them
in a single desktop folder. Now when I want to move some
files it's one click to open the desktop folder, one click
each for the specific folders involved and I'm ready to
drag and drop between them.

It's been so long since I set this up that I've forgotten
what the /e switch is for. If someone reads this and
knows about the possible switches in that position please
let us know.

Thanks
Bill
