analog to digital converter

Hi

i wish to convert my old anaolg movies to digital. I have connected my old analog to new digital camcorder (Canon MVX3i) made the approriate setting and connections, and I can see the video in Windows explorer

Using WMM2, when I press capture, the program advises there is no tape in the camcorder, and stops. If I load a tape, the prgram plays the tape, and stops the stream from the analog device

Am I missing something

Any help is appreciated.
