I've been hijacked by a low-life internet user. Every
time I open my Internet Explorer 6.0 browser, I get a
pass-through to amazinautossearch. I now have a search
bar I don't want; a task bar I don't want; a bunch of
randomly timed mundane pop-up windows I don't want; and
my cookie folder gets loaded with a bunch of their crap!

I've tried to clean out this worm using three different
spyware products, but none has worked. Can some one
please tell me how best to get rid of
this 'amazingautossearch' pest?

Hi Ron

Try all of the following programs to see if there is any spyware on your system:

Ad-Aware - www.lavasoftusa.com
Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org/
CWShredder - http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

Failing those, virus scan your system using the latest definitions for your AV program.
