Alternative to Weatherbug

Hello...

I'm looking for an alternative to Weatherbug. My boss really wants it but
understands why I don't want him to have it. Don't ask me why he needs it. We
live in Tucson for crying out loud. It's sunny and warm! What else do you need!

Anyway. I'm not really familiar with Weatherbug or what features it has or what
info it gives, so I'm hoping someone here can offer an alternative that will
satisfy a Weatherbug fan.

I've found some on google, and I know there's a Firefox extension, but as I
said I wouldn't know if they'd match Weatherbugs features and info.

Any suggestions besides telling him to stick his $%^& head out the $%^& window.
Tried that. Didn't work.

)

Thx,
D.

Thanks, everyone, for the suggestions. I'll give them a spin and let him
decide.

Well now you can be:

I use the weather watcher from singercreations the other poster linked for
you. Nice program and free of malware. Don't know about the program Vtroll
told you about. I do like the map features available in weatherwatcher,
too.

Regarding your request DSMCD- the other programs mentioned are fine, as
long as you realize that all the other weather apps rely on weather
data from the federal govt. which has 1000 stations, 99% of which are
at airports. These stations update once an hour.

WeatherBug has 8000 stations of our own, which are mostly at schools
and local businesses in your neighborhood, not an airport dozens of
miles away. And our stations update live- every 2 seconds while the
main WeatherBug screen is open.

Now, if you're in Tucson and your business doesn't need live weather,
this may not be as big an issue, but obviously for millions of people
and thousands of businesses and government agencies, the military,
etc., it is critical to have live, local weather instead of 1 hour old
airport weather. That's why the 21 million unique monthly users, the
Dept. of Homeland Security, US Naval Academy, US Air Force Academy,
Quantico Marine Base and 14 Coast Guard stations plus 8000 schools and
100 TV stations (INCLUDING KHRR in Tucson) use our weather data. When
you see weather info on KHRR's broadcasts, that is generally coming
from our weather stations.

That in a nutshell is what makes us different. We also have an API out
that developers can use to create their 'own' version of WeatherBug.
Maybe this is an alternative to having your boss run the regular
version if you or your IT team feel like creating a customized
WeatherBug for your business.

If you have any questions about the product or our API, let me know,
and good luck with whatever product you choose. and try to stay cool-
it's over 100 there today! I know it's a 'dry heat' but still........

Jay, no offense intended but I dumped your product because of the incessant
advertising and constant nagging for picking a new "sponsor".

Jay;

I appreciated your post. Thoughtful & balanced. It's good to see a
company rep step up to explain the value-add of their product (I hadn't
known). But I dropped your company's product for the same reason as
Chrissy's. If I find out that your company shifts to a more subtle form
of adware, I'd definitely check it out again.

-Sparky
