How come I can do alt-view-source when I'm in Explorer on my work computer, and it shows me all the source HTML code, but it doesn't do anything on my home computer when I ask it to do that? I'm trying to see HTML code for what's in my browser at home. Something I have to switch on

Home: Windows XP Home editio
Work: Windows Professional (I think it's called ,,,?

Any suggestions? Thanks, Michael

It's not [ALT] + View...Source. It's just the View menu and then Source.

Usually I press this in ie for the source.:

[ALT] + [N] + [O]

Yes, but my point is: I can do the opration on my work computer, but not on my home computer (using the same menu choice; view-source.)

Is there some switchbox I must enable in some setup somwhere that will permit my system to actually show HTML when I select source?

'Cause right now it doesn't respond

Thanks, Michael

Previous posts have said the problem is with your edit program.
Is the edit program Notepad?

Yes, I use Notepad on my work computer and also on my home computer. So, when I do view-search, the HTML comes up in a Notepad window; fine. But does not happen on my home computer. Is there something I must select in some set-up regarding Notepad possibly?

The program that opens up will be the OS's default text editor. Unless
you've changed it (or some program has changed it on you), that is Notepad.

From another post--Ron Sommer

To resolve this issue, delete all of the files in the Temporary Internet
Files folder.

To do this, follow these steps: Start Windows Explorer. Browse to
C:\Document and Settings\User Name\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files.
On the Edit menu, click Select All, and then press DELETE. When the
confirmation message appears, click Yes. Close Windows Explorer.

Yes, but I do not have a sub-directory called "Local Settings" .. so where can i find "Temporary Internet Files". I can go C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\ but I do not get to any "Local Settings" sd

Ron, where might I find Temp Int files? I've done a search

Thanks, Michael

In IE, choose Tools...Internet Options. Then click the Settings button and
the View Files button.
